And in the Pink corner...
weighing in at 11 lbs 5 oz and 23 inches of pure awesome, PEARL PATRICIA! This is Ash, the happiest auntie to the 4th power, blogging on my sister's behalf. I know this picture isn't the usual 'Alicia' caliber, but it's what we have for the moment. You'll surely be flooded with beautiful captured moments soon.
I'll give you a rough sketch of the day from my perspective but my sister will surely give you the real dish once she is home. First of all, let me just tell you... my sister is amazing. She is a birth warrior, if there ever was such a thing. She listens to her body with an intensity that I've not seen matched in any other person, in any other arena in my life. Every time I see her navigate through a pregnancy and birth, I always think "I could never be more proud to be her sister." Well, as I'm sure you can imagine, this scenario has rewinded and replayed each and every time. Alicia - you knock my socks off, over and over again. You make me the most proud, way beyond the meaning of sister; you make me proud to be a woman.
Their day started at 7:30 am, water broken by the Dr. at 8:30 am, contractions, more contractions, 12 minutes of pushing and a baby delivered @ 1:50 pm...a big, beautiful baby girl! Pearl is having some blood sugar difficulties right now and hasn't been able to spend a lot of time in the room with Alicia and Scott. She's currently on an IV to get and keep her blood sugar up. She's only been able to breastfeed a little bit and Alicia is struggling with her baby being 2 rooms away during this precious time. All of your thoughts & prayers are covetted.
I don't know if you felt it wherever you were, but the world expanded by one today in a beautiful, fierce way. Watch out world, here comes Pearl.
(she's smirking already. that's my girl!)

Congratulations to you all :)
Basically:
CONGRATS! Pearl is GORGEOUS and I LOVE her name, you know that, and I CANNOT believe she was 11 pounds 5 ounces! Way to go, Mama!!
I also said that I totally understand being away from your newborn and it stinks!!! Maisie had trouble breathing at birth and I was recovering from a c section and I could not even see her for the first time until she was about 8 hours old! It was horrendus. She had to stay in the special nursery for 2 days and I only saw her twice. I can imagine how hard this is for you. I am so sorry, but I WILL be praying that little Pearl's blood sugar issues resolve and you can be together soon!
CONGRATULATIONS!!!
Wonderful naration Ash :)
I cant wait to actually HOLD her! =) miss
She is awesome! I will be praying for you both!
Congradulations!
Amber!
Congrats!!
talk to you soon,
Brittany
